I bike commute when I feel like it/car is not available to me.

Otherwise, my personal smugness depends on working in a bike shop, and subsidizing the general bicycling public by caring far more about service on their bikes than my income. Also providing free-of-charge bike tech/safety sessions out of the shop, for which I run a deficit of bike-commuting time because I sometimes unfairly value sleep over bike commuting.

As a bike commuter, I suck, but it is in deference to bike commuter advocacy, so I don't often think of killing myself.
