I rode just a bit under 1900 miles in 2012, almost a thousand fewer than 2011. I don't know how many days that was, but my commute probably averages around 20 miles per day. When I commute by bike I always catch a commuter bus, at least in the morning. Sometimes I ride all the way home from work.

Barring getting right hooked pretty bad in March, I still got some decent commuting in.

125 rides
1550 miles
103 hours

Our gallery moved though (eminent domain from LA's MTA). So my commute is shorter but the route has more precarious sections.

Be safe out there in 2013!!

Bikes: Kona Dawg, Surly 1x1, Karate Monkey, Rockhopper, Crosscheck , Burley Runabout,

110 one way bike trips for total of 1,980 bike commuter miles. Does not include utility/errand trips, touring, vacation or mountain biking every weekend. Year round, North of Boston MA. 96F to 7F, yes frozen gatorade does not hydrate well. Studded tires do work very well, however.

86 commuting days (17 miles round trip), none is December due to ton or rain.

I earned $426 to donate to the charity of my choice for my efforts of self powered commuter.

A1penguin that is pretty cool about the money to donate to your favorite charity... is that a work sponsored thing? My place of employment does not even allow us to use money pretax for bike related commuting needs when you can do it for parking your car.

Well, since the 2012 commuter mileage thread was closed before my procrastinating butt got around to posting an end of year final, I guess I’ll post here.

118 round trip work commutes, for 2834 miles. A new yearly record for me. Add in another approximate 4-500 untracked miles for errands and recreational rides for well over 3000 miles last year. Pedal On, boys and girls!

Yes, it is work sponsored and LOTS of people bike to work. The only stats I could find is that over 2200 employees (the program is only available in US and Canada) had stamps in 2011. No idea how much $ was donated. There are people who bike every day, literally. There is a gym on campus and each building has a bathroom with a shower so it's easy to be clean at work. They also set aside some fraction of available lockers to regular commuters. Social responsibility is important.

The annual BTWD is crazy; they give out schwag and have a big food area outside. They also asked which city you biked from and keep a tally. They allow bikes to be parked indoors and there were so many bikes they put bike racks and mounted https://www.cycloc.com/ in hallways. I attribute part of this to the California culture and the rest to working at a cool company.

I now keep track in the commuting mileage thread.

for me [# days bike, # days public transport, # days car, # total days]

for 2013 so far [5b, 0.5c, 5.5t]

this seems like the easiest way to do it

I use endomondo, can set whether it's commuting or other kinds of riding.

I started back to commuting in mid July, so July - December, 55 days, 1045 miles

I don't want to stare at my (slow) MPH, or mount yet another accessory to my bike (much less one I have to worry about being stolen) so no computer for me. I just use Google maps to trace my routes, it calculates the mileage. I have an e-mail I send to myself and add to with my trips on it, and post to the mileage thread when I have time to update it.
