I have nothing against LA. I just can't understand how a single guy can be placed on such a high pedestal for mastering the art of winning what is ultimately a TEAM event. No team, no win.
He explained it after finishing this years tour as "day after day guys would go out and hammer themselves trying to win every stage. My plan from day one was gain an advantage in the time trials and attack on one mountain stage". That was the magic formula, boring but strategically correct. And totally dependant on having the strongest TEAM around you.
