I sold Peugeots for many years, and there was a time approx. 1983 or so that the first 2 low end road bikes used SunTour stem shifters, Spirt front derailleur and Honor rear derailleurs. At that point , the models had switched over to alloy Solida cotterless cranksets from the older cottered crank versions. Any mix mash of Simplex and SunTour is an aftermarket addition. The bike with dimpled rims and Simplex would be from the late 60's to early 70's time frame.
Thank-you for the reply and if you sold Peugeots for years in early '70s you would know. This Suntour Sprit seems a fairly robust F derailleur and I suspect much better than the original Simplex. However, if the bike is to be "as original " I will start searching for the correct F derailleur as well as rear light lens.
