Is this a higher frequency vibration, more like a buzz or is it lower frequency, more like a wobble in the steering?

If the frequency of the vibration matches the RPM of the wheel, it points to something unbalanced or bent in the wheel or to something with the fork bearings.

Higher frequency vibrations could be attributed to wheel bearings, but should be easy to diagnose by a qualified mechanic.
