I can almost live with bonking a bit during training rides in a effort to be slightly calorie deprived to drop some weight early in the season...though it likely detracts a bit from training benefit. But I find I eat a fair amount before heading out on long group rides..pehaps over eat, because I don't want to be dropped by my riding buddies due to running out of the fuel. Proof I am overeating I suppose is if I ride 200-300 miles hard in a week and don't cut any weight.
