I used those pedals for years, they are excellent. I have tried them with many different types of shoes and the stickiest are from 5.10's gravity line and have S1 soles (Impact, Karver, etc). The 5.10 Freeriders are slightly less sticky due to tread pattern but still far better than any traditional skate shoe. The Camp Fours daspydyr recommended are also S1, so they're uber grippy but the sole is not as flat as the shoes in their mtb lines.
