I need advice for non clipless MTB shoes.

Hi folks!

I have a hard time to find for myself nice MTB shoes with a grippy sole. No clips at all, I like flat pedals with spikes :-)
I'll be glad if someone advice me where I can find what I'm looking for.
Currently have Shimano SH-AM41 shoes but I don't like it, no grip at all. It just slips.

Thanks in advance!

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.

Teva Links or any FiveTen bike shoe.

BTW, You don't have to shout . . . we can hear you!

What pedals are you using? I'm using the SH-AM41's with dmr vaults and am liking the amount of grip, feel more connected with them than when I was using vans.

Bikes: 2011 Felt Z85 (road/commuter), 2006 Marin Pine Mountain (utility/commuter E-bike), 1995 KHS Alite 1000 (gravel grinder)

Same here, actually I run SPD on the road bike and spiked platforms on the MTB. I just recently picked up some cheap skater style shoes and they seem to work pretty well with the platform pedals. Actually pretty much anything sticks to my platform pedals due to the spikes.

The combination may just not work or it needs pins.

I use the same setup on road vs mtnbike. I use 5.10 Camp Four shoes. Once you get used to them you won't ever see the need to use clipless on a mtnbike. I can put a little toe out pressure on a back spin and can reposition the pedal anywhere I need. Plus I can dab really fast.

THERE I said it, I dab, don't hate me for it.

I used those pedals for years, they are excellent. I have tried them with many different types of shoes and the stickiest are from 5.10's gravity line and have S1 soles (Impact, Karver, etc). The 5.10 Freeriders are slightly less sticky due to tread pattern but still far better than any traditional skate shoe. The Camp Fours daspydyr recommended are also S1, so they're uber grippy but the sole is not as flat as the shoes in their mtb lines.

I just bought some Teva Pinners to try on my Lo Pro's, so I'll be able to give you an opinion here in about two or three weeks. Or.. like the surly 1x1-kona p2 thread, about two years.

Looks like a good variation of the Links. Good price; hope they work well for you.

I use clipless in my MTB when I go for Trial or XC rides, when go around with my kids I use sneakers... I have Shimano M324 Pedals.
For Non-clipless you can use any pair of sneakers...

Bikes: Cannondale Synapse 5 alloy...Motobecane Ti Fly Team 29er

I have 5-10's and some cheaper pinned platform pedals (got the set for a good deal)
similar to this
https://www.pricepoint.com/detail/219...A52-Pedals.htm
for technical riding and clipless spd pedals with platforms and shimano shoes for more XC riding

I use a standard pair of HiTek hiking shoes. The tread on the shoes grips the pedals pretty well (no slipping off of the side or forward or backwards), and if I need to get off and go by foot somewhere instead of pedaling, I have ample grip.
