D'oh! - I would have known it was a single had I looked at the hub, and there would have been no mystery because the hub would have told us the date!

Anyway, Raleigh acquired BSA-Triumph cycles in '57, so I guess your bike could be as old as '57 or '58 if the Raleigh seat logo is original. - Are there any other components with the little Sir Walter stamp?
