This is how I see it. When I was in my late 20's, working my way through college, there was a short I.Q. test in Reader's Digest. I took it, did okay, and the analysis at the end of the article said you might want to go and take the Mensa test. So, I did. Scored well enough to become a member of Mensa, but dropped my membership after only one year. The most boring people I ever met. Talk about 'nerds'. I agree with DougG. Scoring well just means that I know how to take a particular type of test very well...nothing more.

I did really love those pattern questions. The ones where they give you a series of pictures and you had to choose the correct answer to continue the sequence. Those geometric puzzles were fun, but I hated the verbal/word problems.
