Why would a LBS offer free anything you get from Mail Order? You already stated you would get them from mail order and then told your LBS that? There is one thing I cannot stand is what you did. Proper ettiquite is to never tell your LBS you bought anything mail order, then expect them to warranty or install it or anything else for free.
