Do a search here on the forums. There are lots of threads on what people recommend to carry with them in a tool kit. At the very least, you should have a multitool, tire levers, a patch kit, and a spare tube. Unless you're planning for some very serious maintenance or changes, I have no idea why you'd need to spend hundreds of dollars.
