The Giro Reverb is a great suggestion. I like the retro style and built in visor.

The POC Trabec is a really nice helmet- premium construction.
I've only seen one or two around town but they look really cool in a non-aggressive/racer style.

I had a Bern and you're right, they are hot in the summer.
