The Bike Radar review of the Air Attack says, "Compared to a full-on, long-tailed aero helmet, the Air Attack has great air flow. Compared to a standard road helmet, it's not bad."

I like my Bell Citi helmet. Nice features, for not much $$.

Just to close the loop on this... I had an old Giro Vapor 3, I think, from when I first got my bike years back. Started riding with that just as the heat kicked in. Made me realize two things. One - it felt like wearing... well a helmet. While there were vents in it, it certainly didn't *feel* like there were vents - no wind, no cooling, so I got to work even hotter than usual. Two, I really like biking w/out a helmet - the sense of motion around my face is really one of the things I loved.

So to make a long story slightly less long - after doing much research and seeing the Specialized Propero II and the Scott Vanish R, I kind of thought those were what I'd like. Went to my LBS and walked out with a Giro Pneumo - which in many ways was what I hoped to avoid before I realized that the point of the helmet was protection and second most important to me was ventilation. Style dropped to a very distant 3rd. Been riding with it for a week or so now and glad I got it sooner rather than later. Biking is much more enjoyable w/ it than the Vapor. Thanks for everyone's advice here!

I also think the Giro Indicator is a great all-around helmet. Comfy, good fit, high quality construction, affordable. Get one in white for great visibility and cool temps in summer too. It even looks pretty cool (for a bike helmet) and you'll appreciate it when you get caught in the rain and the visor is keeping the worst of it out of your eyes. 4.5 stars in 300+ reviews on Amazon is no joke.
I'm on my 2nd Giro Indicator helmet. No complaints. Good fit, good ventilation, good weight, good price, visor is a plus for me, and it looks good without looking too "racer". The adjustable fit means I can put wear a skull cap underneath in cold weather. I have the red/white/black model (because it matches my two bikes ).

A little-known fact is the Catlike Whisper was inspired by the Surinam Toad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCayq56wHSA

I use a giro atmos, I don't find that it cooks my head at all and I live in Louisiana. It gets really hot over here.

What is a non-agressive helmet? By the same token, what exactly is an agressively helmet? Does it come at you?
