The 530s are sleek, but as mentioned in this thread, don't have a grippy surface on the platform side. Not a big deal for just going around the corner.
There are zillions of recessed cleat SPD compatible MTB and commuter shoes. The key is finding the ones that fit your feet and budget. Time to go shopping.
