Saturday I went to a Police auction, & although 98% of it was beach cruisers ( some nice one's at that, but they were paying $100 for clean Huffy's ) I did manage to score two nice bikes & one beater for a decent amount. First is a 1962 Schwinn Typhoon straight bar, lots O rust, can be ridden as is, Painted rims are painted again red,the original white with black stripe rims look clean under poor pealing red paint.
Second bike was what I really wanted as soon as I checked it out, a 1991 Schwinn Paramount Series 70 PDG mountain bike with most of it's original parts, full XT ( Originally posted in Vintage Mountain bikes thread, post# 3416 to 3423 ). It's weathered & needs most of the hardware replaced but will clean up nice after a total clean, polish & service. I have most of the hardware in stainless for it already & I am waiting for some Jagwire cables to come in I ordered & a set of grips.
I also got a 5 bike display rack from my boss who was going to scrap it that I am hoping to do something with.
