Giant and Trek both have good reputations. Dawes is a crap shoot. If you decide to sell in a few years, Trek and Giant are both easily recognized names. Dawes, not so much.

As for working with LBS on fit, as well as any follow up if you run into a problem, yes, you can do that with the Dawes, but if you run into a problem, the money you pay your bike shop will eat up any money you save now, and you will still have a no name bike of unknown quality.
