Waving us through is nice, but sometimes drivers don't realize we have to follow vehicle rules and have to act as they do. If it isn't my turn to go, it isn't my turn to go.
It's not always nice, even if so intended. There isn't only right of way to consider, there's other traffic. They may be waving you into the path of a vehicle that isn't aware of their "nice" gesture.
