That reminds me of another pet peeve - cyclists who are oblivious to or inconsiderate of other cyclists. Perhaps they are heading full tilt towards a stop sign and you're on the cross street, a little closer to the intersection. You slow a bit as a token acknowledgment of your stop sign and they don't, so as you pick up speed, you find yourselves on a collision course.
This happened to me last Monday. It was a group of riders. The first one blew through the stop sign without stopping and nearly collided into me as I was pulling out from a complete stop. The rest of the group stopped and gave me dirty looks like it was my fault. "Hello! I stopped at my stop sign, you idiots didn't!" was what I was thinking at the time.
