I don't "accommodate" motorists on all occasions, and I will position myself in the roadway to not let motorists pass by if I feel it would endanger my personal safety, and at times, I will take the full lane if there is more than one lane traveling in the same direction.
This guy was not concerned about his safety. He was deliberately provoking motorists for his own gratification. I'm the one who rides like you, as a re-reading of my post will show. However I don’t reflexively take the side of other cyclists out of some kind of blind loyalty.
