This isn't true though. The only difference between machined and non-machined Deep Vs, Aeroheads, Fusions, A23s, etc. rims (for example) is the non-machined version has the finish removed on the brake surface. Structurally, they are exactly the same. H+Son SL42s have machined surfaces which are anodized after machining.
Rims with a true V profile - like B43s and H+Son Formation Faces (which do not have a parallel braking surface) - are not structurally designed to withstand brake wear.
