It really is pathetic for a fellow roadie not to wave back, verbal greeting, or at least a head nod when he/she clearly knows that hes/she has been waved at by another cyclist. Life it too short to behave otherwise; some of you much younger than 50 will realize that later in life, hopefully not too later.
It's really nothing to do with age. I'm pushing sixty, and in my view it is the waving that is pathetic. I don't know you, the fact that we are both on bikes does not make us soulmates, I really couldn't give a **** for your acknowledgement and am not so needy as to desire your recognition of the fact that I can stay upright on two wheels. So wave away, and I'll get on with my ride, thanks.
