Are you a clyde (like me?) or dealing with an issue that makes riding 53mi unlikely? No need to reply if it's none of "our" business but if you're in average health and have time for regular riding, 53 might well be within range. I'm out with a broken clavicle at the moment and will have been off a bike for 2months plus when I get back to riding and at that point I have family visiting for two weeks and will do little or no riding but I expect to do 50mi within two weeks of returning to riding. I may well be overly optimistic given that I'm 60yrs old and overweight but I did a 130mi ride last summer (two summers ago... ? lol) and think I can ramp it up pretty quickly. I sure hope so. But fun for you to do a "birthday" ride however you do it. It's just good stuff to keep getting out there regularly and getting/staying in shape while having some fun.
