Is there any biking etiquette I should now about? I've noticed that people passing me say "on your left" - for reasons that are obvious.

I kind of like the "Golden Rule". It's applicable to most situations in our lives. Also, when passing someone, unless on a confined path, I don't say "on your left", but almost always give at least five feet and a small wave after passing.
