I don't get this. Rude if you ask me. This a small community and seeing a rider in the middle of no where I find it rude when they don't acknowledge.
There has been a fair amount of bandwidth wasted on the 'waving at other cyclists' concept and whether you should be butt-hurt if they don't wave back.
Trust me on this, it's situational.
