BTW, Ortlieb panniers normally include both sizes of hook inserts, so that the pannier will fit 5-16mm diameter tubing/rod. You might want to check and see if you hid the inserts away somewhere.

It's not a bad idea to carry spare inserts with you on tour, or even complete hooks, like:

Notice the hooks-with-handle include 1 set of inserts (your "spare" set).
