Finally - The right bike

Finding the right bike has been a long hard journey. I have been riding road bikes for 6 1/2 years now and I have gone through a number of bikes in a quest for the right one. The list goes from a Trek to an Orbea to Cannondale to Specialized and even an offbrand along with a steel Gunnar. They were all good bikes, but not the one.

A couple months ago I put in a bid on E-bay for a Scott Addict, which is a pure racing bike. I was just playing with the bid, knowing I had entered a number well below half the final price. I guess the bid was ending at a weird time because, of all things, I was high bidder. Instantly I started worrying about what was wrong with the bike that I had not noticed.

It arrived in a well padded shipping box. The components were Dura Ace 7800. The frame had no marks. I assembled it and took it for a ride. My very nice Trek 6.5 also with Dura Ace components has hardly been off the stand since that day.

I do not believe this Scott Addict is a better bike than the Specialized S-Works or the Orbea or the Trek. I believe that each rider has his or her own set of wants and needs. It may take a while to find the bike that does all that for YOU. This one works for me.
