It's the "other way" which is to say yes, above Newcombs, above Cloudburst Summit, beyond the tunnels, past the entrance to Hwy 39 . . . I think 5 or 6 miles from the Hwy 39 barricade to Dawson Saddle summit.

Think I want to try this next. GMR->EastFork->39->Crystal Lake->Angels Crest->Dawson Saddle and back. My ride earlier this week was from La Canada->Angeles Crest->Cloudburst->Crystal Lake->39->Encanto
How much elevation is it from GMR to Dawson & back? 7k?
