I have that same '84 Trek 830 frame hanging in the garage, what are the measurements on your 830? Mine is either the same size or the next size up, I'll measure it later today after work and let you know. I was going to do the same as you, gloss black (or possibly matte gray like the stock color on my '91 Stumpjumper Comp) with new VeloCals decals but the $40.00 decals has kept it on the hook in the garage. If it works out, no reason for you to send your frame as I have too many anyway, we can work something out, like a seatpost or some other small component in trade.

Any news on the 830 frame size? Not rushing you, but I've had this bike like 4-5 years now, and it's been too small since the day I bought it
