Another Specialized model to look at is the Vita. My wife just bought one over the weekend andshe is very happy with it. Between the two comfort bikes she rode and that one, she felt that was the smoothest, yet sporty and nimble bike. She tried one with a front shock and felt it was too soft of a ride and hated it going up hill.

Pretty much any rigid bike will do. It gets down to comfort.
