It's a really beat up old thing with a bent down tube (great position for powering up hills) we got locally. I guess it's at least twenty years old but it was ideal for Bel's first SS. It took ages to get the riding position just right but I think we have it now as she's averaging 16+ mph on 15-20 mile trips.
I realised today that I really did not like riding with gears: far too much to think about and, very bizarrely, my times are better on the fg by at least 10%. I've put this down to more efficient gear train and a better psychological approach. YOU JUST PEDAL. Period.
