Those are interesting, Chombi. Looks like it was drilled, then the counter sinking, then the arms were heavily buffed, rounding over the edges of the holes. Then the whole shebang anodized, or painted, black. Almost looks like spray paint. Pretty well done. But I'd prefer the heavier version, sans holes.
