3 years ago, I got a stomach ulcer, I'm hard headed and thought it would go away, I waited 3 months to see the Doctor. Meanwhile I worried and stressed myself so much that it could be cancer etc...that I developed daily bad headaches and head pains. just random pains shooting across my skull. I could barley work and play with my kid it was so bad. My eyes would also hurt and dry out. My Doc fixed the ulcer with meds and checked my blood and concluded I just had chronic tension headaches that a lot of people develop in their 30's. Chronic tension headaches usually happen 26 days a month. Imagine living like that.
On top of that I was overweight with high blood pressure at 30 years old. He recommended to stop worrying and stressing and do a dash diet (low salt). I slowly started taking his advice and I noticed after 1 year the headaches were becoming less severe. Doc said that was a good sign it wasn't a brain tumor or something more serious. (i didnt want to pay for cat scans when I first went to the Doc) Even during the 2nd year I would get random severe pains again, but just about 5 times a month. I'm now in the 3rd year from when I first got the headaches and life is much better. I took up cycling in March and i've lost 37 pounds and almost at a recommended weight. The headaches are now 1-2 times a month. My blood pressure is still running a bit high (imo thats causing some of the headaches) I may have to get meds to lower my blood pressure cause I've about done all I can do.
my blood pressure was 133/85 this morning. It's very tricky when it comes to headaches. So many things it could be. Good Luck!
