Jesse, I thought that one of the bennys to being on the DASH diet was to NOT have to be on BP meds? I had looked into the same diet-even started it and used it for a while, but eventually, got back to my old ways. I'm 200 lbs and 5"11", 48 years old. Been on BP meds since I was 20. My weight has come down 20 lbs in the last several years, and I expect that it will continue to as I consider my mortality more and more. I'm not a doctor, although I've been in the medical field for 30 years, I wouldn't be on any BP meds until your diastolic hit 90.
