It's bad enough you've got to stop and fix the flat ... and spend money on new tubes and perhaps also a new tire ... but then you're expected to fork over a fortune for coffee too? I don't think so!
Stuff happens. I had a series of flats a few years ago which I could not figure out ... I was riding on pristine roads (no debris, no potholes, no reason for a flat), I had good tire pressure, I even changed the tire to a new one, but still my tire flatted.
Eventually we changed the rim tape, and that seemed to solve the problem. Sometimes you need to go through a process of elimination to figure it out.
And what about those cycling in goatshead country?? You can't even see those things and next thing you know, you've got a flat.
