I have lots of Hungarian friends and relatives, so I don't know the language except for a few words, but I know a bit about the culture.

Hungarian is a little close to Finnish and Estonian, but yeah it's different to everything else.
I think a slavic language would be quite useful to know when traveling (not in hungary per se).
