Sorry, good people...I keep coming back to this 4+ year old thread. It still pisses me off when some snyde a**hole ridicules something they know so little about.
The practical matter of flipping your bars allowed you to be comfortable on a "racing bike", marketed to promote style over substance. I like my bars flipped, they are comfortable. It's a tradition I grew up with. I am not a bum and I couldn't give less of a f*** what some wanker thinks of my bike. They look cool to me because I remember where I came from and don't rely on trends to make design decisions.
It's all about free choice, ya' know...and tradition. I'll bet the guys at 4th and Indiana would be more philosophical about this and let our judgmental friend choose which of his wheels he preferred up his ass.
Here's my ride for winter. It's been posted elsewhere on the forum as well, sorry. Building another fixie this winter. More rat this time.
