Funny you ask. His first pro team was Francaise Des Jeux in the late 90's. He ended up coming back to race in America mainly due to language and isolation issues. When he did go back to Europe he started on French teams but then went to Astana alongside Leipheimer and then Armstrong and he then went with them along to what eventually became Trek.

But there is a big difference between being a 20 something rookie and a 42 year old veteran, and I am sure he will make the best of it.
