The bus is £4.50 ($7.50) round-trip for me. I find that quite expensive for a 18km ride (11.2 miles)
So, I need to ride 88 commutes or 1584km to break even on the cost of the bike, lock, lights and cycloputer.
So, I'm half way there
With all your other cost numbers it sadly makes sense that a bus ride would cost that much, that's about double what my local public transit would charge for the same distance trip.
