+1... I have a Giant Revel 0 that was a 2013 left over and I was able to snag it about 30% off sticker. I was able to change the mechanical disc brakes to hydraulics and still came in under $600. You could also look on CL for a bike a year or two old that someone bought and either got hooked & upgraded or decided wasn't fot them.

If you're near a major college town, lots of college kids are starting to dump their bikes they bought earlier in the year and don't want to take home.
