Yes, the flute is accually quite a bit longer than that, and has holes all along its length, so you can select how low you want to mount your fender. Almost always an issue trying to get a front fender close enough to the tire to be effective on an MTB. I've handcrafted aluminum brackets and repurposed other brackets in the past, but the Fender Flute seems to be an easier fix.
