Thanks for the reply Nick. I thought about using a seat post mounted rack, but as you stated, they don't carry as heavy a load as standard racks. It's funny, it took me a while to find the "right" bike and I based my options on ride quality, comfort and yes, a little on appearance, when I should have included things like this in my opinion as well.

Anyway, I do like the idea of using P clamps or even a new seat post clamp. Either option is readily available.
