Watching this thread as well. I have a Bontrager pump that is just so so. Works very well with Schrader valves on my old hybrid and my son's mountain bike, not as well with Presta. Very frustrating.
My results are like yours with Bontrager on Presta valves, and its new. I'll follow this thread, too.
