Hi all,
I've put a few hundred miles on a pair of Rol D'Huez 24/28s (
http://www.rolwheels.com/wheels/wheel/dhuez-24-28), and they're not as responsive as I'd hoped. The weight difference of around a pound vs. the stock shimano 501s has definitely been noticeable particularly on climbs, but they don't seem as stiff as the shimanos (there's a bit of rear brake rubbing on steep climbs and sprints. Yes, I adjusted the brakes)
Are there any other recommendations of laterally stiff, responsive wheels that are around the same ~1400-1500 grams that are possibly a bit deeper (which should help with the stiffness)? I've been reading up about the criteria that make a stiff wheel, but it's still hard to get an idea without trying them out myself.
For context, I'm freshly out of racing with a hip injury, but the most fun I have when riding is the snappy, stiff feeling like every watt is being transferred directly to the pavement (which is why I got a scott foil in the first place).
Thanks!
