Stiffer Wheel?
Hi all,
I've put a few hundred miles on a pair of Rol D'Huez 24/28s (https://www.rolwheels.com/wheels/wheel/dhuez-24-28), and they're not as responsive as I'd hoped. The weight difference of around a pound vs. the stock shimano 501s has definitely been noticeable particularly on climbs, but they don't seem as stiff as the shimanos (there's a bit of rear brake rubbing on steep climbs and sprints. Yes, I adjusted the brakes)
Are there any other recommendations of laterally stiff, responsive wheels that are around the same ~1400-1500 grams that are possibly a bit deeper (which should help with the stiffness)? I've been reading up about the criteria that make a stiff wheel, but it's still hard to get an idea without trying them out myself.
For context, I'm freshly out of racing with a hip injury, but the most fun I have when riding is the snappy, stiff feeling like every watt is being transferred directly to the pavement (which is why I got a scott foil in the first place).
Thanks!

Is your skewer tight? Sometimes the cam lock action gets worn and they don't lock as tightly as they should. Is the rear wheel still true? Are the spokes still evenly tensioned?
Aluminum is aluminum; you won't find bigger rims that are magically lighter unless you go to carbon.

Sure! Zipp 303 FC tubulars should fit your given criteria! Oh yeah, and BTW, a stiffer wheel will rub the brakes more, not less. Also, a deeper rim makes a less stiff wheel than a shallower rim. Good luck!

I have a set of shimano rs81 c35s. They are great for a stiff aero wheel. They feel stiffer than my 5 year old mavic ksyrium sl ssc. They are heavier but they don't feel like it. Most of the extra weigh is in the hubs and the steel freehub body.
I think they are the best wheel on the market right now if you are looking for a wheel that can be ridden everyday and still raced on without destroying your bank account.
