Good day,
-Intro. You can skip this-
Since it is my first post in this forum, short introduce. Been cycling since very little like all the kids, had more than 10 bicycles since then. When I was studying and moved to live in another country, I became a digger for cheapest riding bicycles available. I guess my best deal was the first one I got, a city-cruiser, all rusty steely, but with solid and straight wheels and like-a-new tires for €20. My Royal
refresh. Since then I had several Austrian made Puch's enjoyed them a lot, I was and still am not sure what makes me happier riding them or finding a crappy and forgotten bike and making it shine again. The remarkable moment was when we went for a trip with my two friends. Over 150 km were covered per one day. Haven't toke any spares for the trip but luckily nothing wrong had happened. A €25 two wheeler haven't made me worry not for a second. Then I realized how trustworthy and simple these mechanisms are. I got the passion.
-The question-
Bought an early nineties, entry level road bike
Torbole. But I can't figure out who made it. I was looking in the forums and catalogs for a while but couldn't find what kind of brand frame it is.
From parts (Shimano Exage Motion groupset) and front fork I am guessing it is early 90's. Frame looks something like Giant or Fuji Palisade was my closest match from looks. The only sticker it has is 'Torbole' - not original. My guess the paint job is not original too. I am sure PO made a little upgrade - Mavic Open SUP CD wheels with Shimano 600 tricolore hubs, Shimano hyperglide 7-speed cassette.
The other parts look like this Biopace oval double crank
25.8mm seatpost,
Exage,
Cheapest headset,
SN.:106369.
Got it all cleaned up, new bar tape, all cables and armors, all bearings cleaned up and relubed, standard pedals and reupholstered the seat with a black suede (not in the picture)
Unknown .
Anybody have some thoughts what frame could it be ?
Thank you for your attention
