It has happened to me. Always the same location, in the spring. Then it just stops. The birds have a nest nearby and you are traveling close to it. Try the other side of the road. I my case they were Perrier Falcons (spelling?) and I was going over the same bridge at the same end. When the chicks leave the nest, they don't bother me anymore. Some kind of sticks with Christmas tree tinsel on the ends will keep them off the helmet.
