Although most of my bikes are "really nice," none of them are "museum nice." I bought them to ride, so to that end- I have no problems replacing something that is functionally better and still meets the aesthetic of the bike- as long as it's not damaging the original stuff.

Of course, "modern" to me means 1994...

And to that end- it's also great having a little piece of history that you can own!
