Skyline Drive (105 miles in VA, all paved and 35 mph) which seamlessly directly connects with:
The
Blue Ridge Parkway (469 miles VA - NC - TN), all paved/many tunnels and 45 mph.
I ride these stretchs alot. Beautiful and arduous. Remote/very few support services.

Meanwhile, I understand that any time now, Adventure Cycling is supposed to announce the details on their new Underground Railroad route..... it probably traverses the App.s somehow/where.
