hey i was wondering what websites, other than adv-cycling.org, people might recommend for good touring routes?
also, does anyone know of a non-mountain bike route that runs through the appalachian mountains?

Take a look at:
https://www.bicycletour.com
https://www.nbtda.com (National Bicycle Tour Director Association)
Are you interested in supported or unsupported tours??

The Skyline Drive (105 miles in VA, all paved and 35 mph) which seamlessly directly connects with:
The Blue Ridge Parkway (469 miles VA - NC - TN), all paved/many tunnels and 45 mph.
I ride these stretchs alot. Beautiful and arduous. Remote/very few support services.
Let me know if you need specifics on specifics.
Meanwhile, I understand that any time now, Adventure Cycling is supposed to announce the details on their new Underground Railroad route..... it probably traverses the App.s somehow/where.

Another thought.... The East Coast Greenway (you will need to do a net search for the site) is a work in process route that is piecing together Maine to Key West. More of it is completed in the NE than the SE to-date - just got something in the mail from them and would give you the website if I had not thrown it out/i.e., it runs fairly close to the coast and I don't.
